Glen Leven Farm

Welcome to Glen Leven Farm!

Located just four miles from downtown Nashville, Glen Leven Farm is a 64-acre historic sanctuary managed by The Land Trust for Tennessee and maintained in partnership with the Master Gardeners of Davidson County (MGofDC).

What to Expect

  • Rich History: First settled in 1790 by Cumberland Compact signatory Thomas Thompson, this site has evolved from an 18th-century land grant to a pivotal civil war location during the Battle of Nashville. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the property features a fully stabilized historic home and outbuildings.

  • Conservation & Arboretum: Designated as an official arboretum by The Nashville Tree Foundation, the farm serves as a living showcase of Middle Tennessee's native trees, agriculture, and land conservation efforts.

  • Master Gardener Demonstrations: Visitors can explore sustainable gardening practices and educational project plots co-led by MGofDC project leads Bryan Thompson and Alyssa Reynolds.

  • Public Access: The Land Trust for Tennessee opens the property to the public through free monthly Community Days, offering visitors an opportunity to tour the grounds, learn about local history, and experience ongoing conservation projects firsthand.
