Do you have a passion for gardening and a desire to share your knowledge with others? Becoming a Master Gardener of Davidson County is an opportunity to deepen your understanding of horticulture while giving back to the community through volunteer work. Our program focuses on educating and engaging the public in sustainable gardening practices across Middle Tennessee.2025 Intern Class

Master Gardeners are trained volunteers who dedicate their time and expertise to support gardening education in their local communities. Through volunteer projects, events, and outreach programs, you’ll have the chance to help others with their gardening challenges while continuing to expand your own knowledge.


Master Gardeners of Davidson County Class of 2024

As a Master Gardener, you'll contribute to a wide range of activities, from helping maintain community and demonstration gardens to offering advice through our "Ask a Master Gardener" program. It’s a rewarding way to make a difference in Middle Tennessee!

The process to become a Master Gardener begins with completing our application. Once accepted, you’ll go through an extensive training program that covers topics such as botany, soil health, plant diseases, pest management, and more. Upon completion of training, you’ll put your new skills into action through volunteer service.

Internship Applications are available on this site by the middle of September each year. Classes run for 14 weeks from the end of January until the beginning of May.
